People who are eager to serve the nation, they follow the way by choosing their career in any armed force. The first option of most of these individuals are to get into Indian Army, as a second preference they choose Air Force. But, how many of them know that serving in Air Force is better when compared to ground force. Air Force provides two modes of entry scheme for both men and women, the first scheme is permanent commission and the second is short service commission which is for five to ten years. It offers two modes of service, which are the ground duty wing and the flying wing.

Today we came here to inform you about two Air Force notifications, which is for both men and women in Meteorology Branch as a Ground Duty Officer. This recruitment process is carried out for the upcoming Permanent and Short Service Commission in January 2014. Applications are invited from promising young graduates who are willing to serve the nation. The application process and other details are mentioned below.

Vacancy Details in Air Force:
1. Meteorology Branch (Men):

  • Ground Duty Officers – 135 Posts
  • Short Service Commission Officers – 28 Posts

2. Meteorology Branch (Women):

  • Short Service Commission Officers – 44 Posts

What is the eligibility Criteria for these Posts?

While looking at the eligibility criteria, age limit, education and physical standards are the three constraints taken into consideration.

Age Limit: The candidate must be born between 2nd Jan 1989 to 1st Jan 1994, as now he/she will between 20 to 25 years of age. If the candidate completed PhD, the upper age limit will be relaxed for two years on the basis of above dates.

Education Qualification: Applicant must be a graduate in any stream of physical science, mathematics or engineering with 50% of marks.

Physical Standards: The male candidate must be minimum 157.5 cms height and for female candidates 152 cms of height is enough. Medical fitness is essential and it will also checked during the selection process.

Selection Process:
The recruitment process consists of two stages. Stage one will be the screening test and the stage two consists of Psychological Test, Group Tests and Interview. Selected candidates will be engaged in the training course commencing in January 2014 for a period of 52 weeks.
